Hal tersebut tercermin dari Indeks Penjualan Riil (IPR) Maret 2017 yang tumbuh 4,2% (yoy), atau lebih tinggi dibandingkan 3,7% (yoy) pada Februari 2017.
"Peningkatan penjualan eceran terutama didorong oleh kenaikan penjualan eceran kelompok makanan yang tumbuh sebesar 7,1% (yoy), lebih tinggi dari 5,1% (yoy) pada bulan sebelumnya," kata Direktur Eksekutif Departemen Komunikasi Bank Indonesia Tirta Segara dalam siaran pers di Jakarta, Kamis (11/5/2017).
Sementara itu, penjualan eceran pada kelompok non makanan tumbuh 0,3% (yoy), lebih rendah dari 1,8% (yoy) pada bulan sebelumnya. Secara regional, peningkatan penjualan eceran terjadi di hampir seluruh kota yang disurvei, dengan peningkatan pertumbuhan tahunan tertinggi di kota Manado.
Meningkatnya pertumbuhan penjualan eceran diperkirakan berlanjut pada April 2017. Hal tersebut tercermin dari pertumbuhan IPR April 2017 sebesar 5,4% (yoy), lebih tinggi dibandingkan bulan sebelumnya.
